Anger 03:18
Here I am and I got so much anger Here I am and I got so much anger Here I am and I got so much anger It’s hard to contain, it’s hard to contain Sometimes you gotta let your nuts hang out, Go on a walkabout Jump, yell, scream and shout To get the so-called monkeys off your back Shock the monkey or he’s sure to attack Make ya feel like a lunatic Make ya feel like you’re losing it Cause scrambled brains don’t make the right choice And then of course, here comes the crazy voice, screaming out loud “Let’s get wild! Let’s get wild!” I black out, I guess i ‘m on a cloud that integrates into a wall Don’t be around when the brick falls chorus So, Mister Anger lives on the dark side of the cranium And there’s no taming’ em, let me git you some info on the nyphomatic hate monger You don’t let him out? he gets stronger No, no way – he’ll be able to kill The demon is trapped in a limbo steel cage Cause he’s in cahoots with rage A combination that your facing in the psycho phase Tension is the key to defeat the enemy Pressure is measured in an unknown quantity So, if you wanna be free from the danger Sometimes you gotta release the anger chorus Sometimes you gotta let your nuts hang out, Go on a walkabout Jump, yell, scream and shout To let the so-called monkeys off your back Shock the monkeys or he’s sure to attack Make ya feel like a lunatic Make ya feel like you’re losing it Cause scrambled brains that don’t make the right choice And then of course, here comes the angry voice, screaming out loud “Let’s get wild!“ I black out, I guess I’m on a cloud It integrates into a wall Don’t be around when the brick falls chorus

Mr. Sunray 03:10
Mister Sunray, hey hey Whatcha say? Mister, Mister, What’s the word for the day. The word for today is: Stop and chill You act ill , you get your cap pealed Here’s the deal, or better yet, the real Blood was spilled for some shoes and a meal Starts with a brew while hanging with your crew So whatcha wanna do, whatcha wanna do? Lets go to the park before it gets dark You see the park after dark is sure to start Trouble, a scuffle, don’t get caught in the shuffle Cause I’m not down G, so back up off me Bounty clown see, but don’t try to count me out I’m Black with no doubt chorus The word for today is: Stop the violence Seems like now, I can’t get a moment of silence Without the gunshots that echo in my mind Now I got time, makes me rewind Back to my days on the block, when I used to take walks with my pops I used to say: Pops can you tell me the deal? Since I know you know the flow, can you tell me the real? He said: Son, this is my philosophy, Don’t believe none of what you hear, half of what you see, and kid never take another life, unless your life is the price Now my pops was realistically cool that way, and these was his words for today chorus Now the words you have heard are verbs for the nerve and The point of this joint is not to sound absurd But to detect the incorrect, collect, inject, and gain some respect. You see the expression of this lesson is for the mind, be it free. Cause things in this world don’t come easily So listen to your pops, he should know the deal be at peace with yourself and know when to chill Cause you live your whole life, and I hope you live it wise. See the rays of the sun are sure to open up your eyes.

Paid 04:19
When I had nothin, I had nobody Now I got a little somethin’, I got everybody Everybody’s on my dick, like a tick on a dog’s nuts Can’t shake them for shit, now what the fuck is up with that? Cause everybody wanna to get paid quick but when it time ta bust a sweat Homey ain’t down with it Now its time to scratch my itch You wanna be paid for what? Now ain’t that a bitch Here’s the boot to you looters on the bandwagon I kick you like Bruce Lee, return you like the dragon Sometimes you gotta play the blues to get the green Understand what I mean? You reap what you sew, don’t sew you don’t reap Hey by the way never ever, creep to The Deep chorus Everybody just wanna get paid Just when you think you got it made When I make my music I make stacks and stacks And when I make my chumpies I take ‘em to the max. The mixitty-max-a-million, cause I’m killin’ every villain That’s robbin and stealing from the little children Cause they don’t know that the artificial flow aint the way to go, So, how low will you go? All the way to sellin’ out your community You ain’t down with peace, you aint down with unity You rat-tat-tat-tat and all that, to get the ends Its remarkable how far you backbone might bend You take it up the ass to get the bucks I attack like sitting bull, your sitting like sitting ducks Take a nap cause you’re bed’s been made and now you wanna get paid chorus bridge I will be the first to tell you that My skills never the less I must confess No frills ,except I got the rep To make it in the game Come, come, come correct, cause its a shame To boost your fame, with the same Ill shit drama as you reach for the mainstream See Imma get paid for my blood, sweat and tears that drips into the sounds, of the lyrics that you hear. To all you schmoes that chose to watch the clock, I got some bad news for you kids up on the block Only time will tell who rocks the bells I’m like the old man of the sea, I never tell My company is misery, ooo how she loves me Pain is the third eye that helps me see My rhyme and speach are my firm belief My passion for music can relieve my grief Though many have gone, but yet I stayed You gotta work hard to get paid chorus P, A, I, D Money for nuthin and chicks for free

about

The second release from Nashville's rap rock originators Stone Deep begins where"Nashville" left off, this time with more urgency.

While "Nashville's" songs where developed from sketches Cartwright and Co had created for the follow up to The Hard Corps'"Def Before Dishonor"release - a session which never happened. The tracks here are the first collaboratively created by the line-up of Cartwright, Hayes, Butler, and Cummings. GATG also sees Ruben Makepeace taking over drum and percussion duties from Kenny Owens, and bringing a new driving sensibility to the groove-centric tracks. Guitarist Glen Cummings leads the sampling and sequencing process, while the entire SD family contributes samples. DJ Kutt steps back into the vocal spotlight on all four tracks offering a cool, smooth counterpoint to Ronzo's "in your face" delivery. On GATG Stone Deep showcases a wider sonic range, pulling from power ballads, stomping metal, The Jimi Hendrix Experience riffage, kraut rock, and even De La Soul Groove, that somehow manages to seem more focused as well.

Two tracks from this release (GATG, Mr. Sunray) where previously released in 1994 as a burgundy 7 inch record. Two tracks (Anger, PAID) have never been released or heard before, and seem even more timely and relevant than when they were recorded.

The track"Gangs and The Govt" features a series of signature riffs from bassist Kelly Butler that are menacing, plodding and driving. Anyone who already loves his approach to songwriting on The Hard Corps "Def Before Dishonor"will recognize the extreme economy of means as Kelly wrings a family of gut-wrenching riff variations from less five notes – its a brutal economy in conversation with The Ramones tracks and Motorhead although the driving groove perhaps has more in common with Nine Inch Nails. Cartwright and Hayes' lyrics call-out the similarities between the USA's Machiavellian use of its military and police and the brutal violence for profit and control of street gangs. Hayes opines "It's just on a higher scale, The government's got wars for sale. To the highest bidder y'all. They's on a crazy mad money-making free for all." The song marches, lurches forward, unclenches and then lurches over and over in a way that makes it impossible to be unaffected.

Please check out this release’s bonus Items: (1) A version of "Anger which included an extended intro, (2) A version of "Gangs and the Govt" which includes an extended intro, (3) a pdf of the original 7 inch vinyl packaging circa 1994, (4) a contact sheet of unseen promo photos, and (5) poster of Gangs and The Govt reviews.
